See America Week May 9 - 17, 2009
Kinston-Lenoir County Visitor’s & Information Center On Display, the month of May 2009, in commemoration of "See America Week" will be examples of Presidential China made by Lenox China in Kinston. Several pieces of the brand new, just delivered, President and Mrs. Bush China will be on hand as well as other select Presidential pieces.
"The China is absolutely lovely! These are wonderful pieces of our great country and national heritage that few Americans have ever seen! I am so excited to have it on display", commented Lucy Marston, Director of Tourism in Lenoir County.
The Visitor’s Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The Visitor’s Center is located at 101 East New Bern Road in Kinston, NC, at the intersection of Hwy 70 East Bypass and Hwy 258 South.

Neuse River ''Spring Splash''

Neuseway Nature Park
The 4th Annual Spring Splash will be held Friday, May 22, 2009.
Fees/Admission
$25 - use of our canoe or kayak $20 - use your own canoe or kayak
Participants will depart Neuseway Nature Park at 11:00am, by bus, for a location approx.12 miles upriver, to paddle back down to the Nature Park. The trip should take approximately 4 to 4 1/2 hours, depending on water conditions.
The "Spring Splash" is part of the Tour de Neuse, sponsored by the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation, to paddle the entire length of the river. Both the upper and lower Riverkeepers will guide the trip through Lenoir County. Sponsors for the Lenoir County portion of the event are Riverkeeper Foundation, Lenoir County Tourism, Lenoir County Paddler’s Association, and Lenoir County Tourism Development Authority.
